FOR WRITERS WANTING TO WRITE A NEW FEATURE FILM SCREENPLAY

Goals and details about the Program.

Writers may have experience writing short films, projects in other mediums (short stories, novels, plays, etc.), or have written a feature screenplay before, and are now looking to develop their process experientially through writing a new project.

This program is not designed for workshopping existing feature film projects.

GOALS + RESULTS

By the end of the sessions, writers will have written a first draft, a logline, and a synopsis of a new narrative feature script.

PROGRAM FOR NEW SCREENPLAY DEVELOPMENT

  • Build stories from a character-centered approach focusing on internal conflict as the touchstone for development.

  • This program consists of a weekly 3-hour group online session for about 12 weeks. Participants should plan to allocate appropriate writing time in between sessions to meet program deadlines.

  • Additionally, over the course of the program, each participant can expect 3 separate one-on-one meetings at key points in the process with David Pope.

  • Each Feature Campus offers approximately 12 participant slots.

“What started out an almost terrifying, insurmountable mountain to climb has been an impressive journey within a supportive group led by a skilled leader…I feel more confident and equipped to achieve my scriptwriting goals.”
